Christmastime is the best time to have fun with the ones you love. Whether you’re spending it with a significant other or just with friends, these activities will make the perfect Christmas dates.

Movie Marathon
Christmas movies are one of the best ways to get in the holiday spirit! Pop some popcorn, warm up some cocoa, and put on your pajamas. Bonus points if they’re matching.
This list by Rotten Tomatoes ranks the 100 best Christmas movies of all time, but watch whichever movies are your favorites! Personally, I can’t go through a holiday season without watching Home Alone and Christmas Vacation. They’re classic!

Make a Gingerbread House
Feeling creative? Build a gingerbread house! Collaborate on one or set up a competition for you and your friends. Vote on whose is the best! Whether you use store-bought kits or homemade ones, this activity is bound to be a crowd pleaser.
Decorate Cookies
You don’t have to be a professional baker to decorate cookies. Simply buy a kit, like this one from World Market, and let those creative juices flow. Christmas trees, candy canes, and angels will be ten times cuter when you’re done with them!
If you are a baker, just grab some cookie cutters in the shape you like and use your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Make sure that the recipe is tailored to make cookies that don’t spread, since you’ll want them to maintain their cute shape!
Use sprinkles to make texture or to use as eyeballs for a snowman. Toothpicks are also great for those small details. This activity is also great to do with kids!
Ice Skating
You don’t need a frozen lake to get on the ice this holiday season. Even in Los Angeles, ice skating is a classic winter activity! Just find a rink near you and bring a trusted friend. Be warned: ice skating is hard! Be careful, and don’t be afraid to stick to the outer perimeter.
Look at Christmas Lights
My personal favorite activity is to drive around and look at Christmas lights. Stop at a coffee shop for a peppermint hot chocolate before turning on the Christmas radio and cruising around. You’ll stay warm in the car and feel those cozy vibes.
Check out this ranking of Starbucks holiday drinks.
Most counties have a neighborhood perfect for Christmas lights. If you know where that is, hit it up! If not, drive around until you find it. There’s no rush with this leisurely date.
Go to the Nutcracker
The Nutcracker is a classic Christmas ballet that most major cities do a professional production of in the winter. It doesn’t have to be expensive – even the cheap seats are awesome when you’re immersed in music and lights.
You may think that ballet is boring, but trust me, it’s anything but boring! Put on your biggest, warmest coat and go see for yourself. Your date will be impressed.
Christmas Bar
Every year, there are a few bars that transform into winter wonderlands. Hanging tinsel and lights, these bars serve festive cocktails that you can’t miss. There are also a variety of pop-up bars that deliver a similar Christmas environment.
This activity is 21+, of course. It is a great option for a Christmas activity that is childless.
